We are driving back to Oregon today. As we come closer to the Snake River, I can see the " Welcome to Oregon" sign ahead. Part of me is happy to go home, another part of me is sad to leave my Idaho family behind. I see a black horse standing in the Snake River drinking. He is on the Oregon side. I wonder if he has family or friends on the Idaho side? Which then sends me down the rabbit hole wondering if animals miss their family?
Our bulldog, Bella seems to act excited every time we walk in the door. This weekend she just about ran herself into a coma. I think Frost was happy to see her leave.
As we drive on I84heading west, I can't help but think God fell asleep at the wheel when he was creating Eastern Oregon! This is the most depressing scenery ever! I can't imagine forging across this barren, dry, depressing land heading west. Not knowing what lies ahead, Indians, cliffs, snakes... Plus all your worldly possessions in a wooden wagon riding on spindly wooden wheels. Imagine the fear and the excitement.
This desert holds some beauty I suspect. Looking out at the painted hills with a mountain dusted with snow, as we drop down to the Snake River to Farewell Bend.
We are now following the Columbia River into Windmill territory. These suckers are huge! Harnessing the wind for power, pretty smart!
If you ever get the chance to see these huge windmills across from the Columbia do it. At night they are lit up and it's pretty impressive as they take turns blinking. I hope Santa's reindeer don't get confused.
Looks like we are headed into rain again. Once again this Spud gets wet.
Cheers, Celeste.

Game day in Boise, Idaho
November 26, 2011. Ken and I drove over to see my family in Boise for Thanksgiving. Today we are with all the family watching BSU Broncos kick the crap out of the Wyoming Cowboys. It is a surprising sunshiny day!! Ken and I haven't seen the sun in some time. We brought over 30 Christmas tree from our Oregon Christmas tree farm. Here is a link to our website: Schlegel Sunridge Farm. We are headed back to the rain tomorrow. boohoo.
